Life made simple

It's time to swop blooms for greens.

Although every season has its own beauty, the almost flowerless-ness of winter takes a little getting used to. Now that autumn has set in, get clever about bringing nature inside, with fewer petals at your disposal.

How about foliage as décor? It’s a great look and it makes a room feel fresh and inviting.

Fill giant vases with strelitzia leaves, silvery white eucalyptus foliage or delicious monster leaves. Trim back your rosemary and other herbaceous shrubs, and fill vases with the cuttings. The fragrance is wonderful.

Try olive or bay leaf branches. Use them as table runners, wall hangings or in vases.

Remember that heat can dry out foliage, so try to keep your leaves away from heaters or too much sunlight.
