Make lime cordial. But heck, limes are sometimes hard to come by, so you could also use lemons for this classic old style summer cordial.
All you need is 1.5 cups of lemon or lime juice, a cup of sugar and a cup of water.
1. Combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water in a saucepan, and bring to a boil.
2. Simmer over low to moderate heat, stirring, until the sugar has dissolved.
3. Pour the sugary syrup into a heatproof bowl and let it cool, then stir in 1.5 cups of fresh lemon or lime juice.
This juice makes
a great little gift.
It keeps well too. Keep it in the fridge and make tall glasses of refreshing juice (diluted, of course) with lots of ice cubes, on hot days.
This juice makes a great little gift. It’s an excellent way to use up pretty wine bottles and spirits bottles that haven’t yet been sent to the skip.
