Do you ‘believe’ in horoscopes? Even if you don’t, please say yes, just for the sake of this post, because October is the month of the sign of Libra, the weighing scales.
The Libran scales represent harmony, peace and balance, and even if you don’t believe in astrology, we bet you do believe in balance, both in the figurative sense, as well as that skill that waiters have when they bring four plates to your table using just one arm.
How much equilibrium is there in your life right now? If the year has made you a little crazy with its pressure, and you’ve neglected some aspects of your life, maybe it’s time to rebalance, time to reset, to make the time to do things that are important to you. Before the silly season hits, and things get really busy, do some of these:
Stay in contact with friends – or contact the ones you haven’t seen or heard from in a while. They’ll be delighted and surprised, and you’ll be glad you did.
Make time to go out and get some fresh air. Vitamin D really does help, not just by putting some colour in your cheeks, but by lifting your mood. Go on a quick early morning or sunset walk a few times every week – or every day if you can.
Make time to go out and get some fresh air.
Do something good for your body – it’s the only one you have. Try something totally different – something you’ve never considered doing: Pilates? Yoga? Cycling? The endorphin rush is an instant anti-depressant.
That pile of books next to your bed is tired of being ignored. Give it some love. Pick one book and read just 10 pages every day. You may need to tear yourself away from a laptop or TV screen, but you will survive, and it WILL feel good.
Grow something. Even if you’re not a gardening person, grow just one small plant in a pot or a bed, and feel the magic of nurturing something.
Get out there and get your balance back – and you won’t have a wobbly.
